How To Plan
Planning any LA trip for me means planning where to EAT! I always bookmark places I want to try whenever I come back to LA and it’s hard to keep track of where I want to go. I got a perfect travel planner to help me sponsored by Adventure Assist. The planner is so stylish and very helpful in planning what we wanted to do each day and how to make use of our short weekend stay. It has tabs for packing, to-do, transportation, accommodations, calendar, contacts, and a general journal at the end. Plus, it makes a great addition to your photos!
Where To Stay
We stayed at a cute Airbnb in the Hollywood Hills. The owners are super nice and accommodating and were very responsive throughout our trip. We decided to stay here because it was pretty central to some of the stops we wanted to go to and it was close by to Burbank Airport. The Spanish Colonial Revival guesthouse is perfect for two and the drive around the hills is scenic and enjoyable if your schedule is relaxed. You can book it here and use my referral link to get $40 off your first Airbnb booking!
What To Do
This trip was more relaxed than my usual LA trips and I wanted to visit new places I haven’t been before. Of course if you’re a first time LA tourist, you don’t want to miss LACMA, The Broad, Griffith Observatory, and Santa Monica Pier. We rarely did anything that didn’t involve food, but here are some low key things to do:
- Walk around Venice Beach and the Venice Canals
- Visit the Museum of Contemporary Art (Free!)
- Shop at The Grove (Came for Dominique Ansel’s Bakery!)
- Go plant store hopping: Rolling Greens Nursery, Cactus Store, Ponderosa Cactus
- Snap pictures at the murals down Melrose Ave (Carrera Cafe, Made in LA, Rainbow on 8050 Melrose)
What To Eat
Now on to the main attraction… the food! I’m not much of Michelin star chaser or even very adventurous when it comes to trying new foods (although I’m working on being more well rounded as a foodie!). If you follow my Instagram page, you know that you can find me at cafes, brunch places, bakeries, coffee shops and dessert spots. Here were my favorite eats during our trip! I always like to recommend places that taste great but also take pride in presentation.
- The Assembly
