“Feastin” My Way Through the Bay Area

With all the food delivery services popping up these days, it is hard to find a service that best fits your needs. In comes Feastin! is a Bay Area marketplace delivering prepared dishes, meal kits, cocktails & desserts from Michelin Star and favorite local restaurants straight to your door. Fresh, amazingly affordable groceries are also available, sourced from local farmers and purveyors. You can try so many different restaurants and dishes in one convenient delivery. I tried Feastin early on during shelter-in-place last summer and their marketplace has grown immensely since then. Since I am doing more cooking at home, I wanted to try their groceries for the first time and make something fun for work-from-home days.

My Ordering and Delivery Experience

The Feastin website makes it incredibly easy to browse the marketplace and add different items to your cart. I started by selecting my desired delivery date and then I spent a good chunk of time looking at all the offerings. The hardest part is choosing!

On the day of delivery, you get an email confirmation with a delivery window estimate. Once your delivery driver is on their way, you get a text message with a link to track the delivery in real-time. Amazing! You also get another confirmation once your delivery is made. Everything is stress-free and incredibly easy.

My Feastin Haul

Feastin partners directly with local restaurant purveyors and wholesalers to get the best ingredients at amazing prices. I ordered fruits like strawberries and avocados and vegetables like baby carrots and bell peppers. Everything was so fresh! I also had to get my Bay Area favorites like udon from Kagawa-ya Udon and black bean pork sauce from Mama Liang’s. It is important to me to keep supporting small businesses, especially during the pandemic.

What I Made

With such fresh and vibrant fruits and veggies in my order, I wanted to make rainbow lunch boxes. My sister is a new vegan, and I thought it would be nice to make these healthy bentos for lunch. They’re perfect for snacking—almost like a charcuterie board lunch box! For a kawaii touch, I made rice ball characters featuring Mike and Sulley from Monsters Inc. and a side of dumplings. Feastin has all the lunchtime essentials that I like and more!
